HOW YOGA CAN HELP YOU

Yoga really is for everyone.

If you allow the yoga pose into your body, and work with your own awareness everyday, your yoga practice can bring you new insights.

Some days you are full of energy and other days you are in need of relaxation.

That’s okay!

Be kind and gentle with yourself but also know when to challenge yourself –

it’s all about balance (in more ways than one!)

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME

My name is Sarah and I love all forms of yoga.

I went to my first yoga class when I was in my teens and was quite amazed by the way the teacher moved his body in such an amazing way. What he could do was way beyond my level, so over the years I dipped in and out of all forms of yoga.

It was only when I was recovering from a broken ankle after a skiing accident that I discovered Kundalini Yoga. As many of the postures are done on the floor, I found that this style of yoga was really helpful to my recovery - I also loved the mantras and found the meditations really fun to do.

Kind Connection started when I was going to a yoga training in London.

I saw a man selling The Big Issue who was not in good health and his walking was limited. He was old and frail and I remember seeing him, but I was rushing by as I had to collect something before my course.

About 30 mins later I saw the man again, this time at the bottom of a flight of stairs. He had fallen from the top and was lying on the floor – you could see he had hit his head from his wounds.

The thing that struck me was the care of strangers and the people that worked at the tube station who all came to his aid.

That’s what lead me to the name ‘Kind Connection’, as we never know the positive impact and the acts of kindness that can change people’s lives. After that I started Kind Connection kits, which can be given to anyone that is in need of a little kindness, and it's since then evolved into a full programme of supportive services that I can't wait to extend to you too!
